Letter: Save the environment with a ‘community’ Xmas tree

If we truly want to minimise the environmental damage caused by the Christmas tree industry (House & Home, December 11), what better way than to have a “community tree” that is decorated once a year by all the residents of a town/neighbourhood? After all, isn’t that how we should be addressing climate change in the first place — by bringing together the entire world to look after the common resource that is Planet Earth?
